How can we improve the quality of education?
At the root of educational failures lies a fundamental problem that has been almost universally overlooked: Students have never been taught how to learn.
Children are thrown into their school years and basic subjects without ever first being taught how to go about learning those subjects. As they grow older they are confronted by more and more complex areas of study, still without ever having acquired the skills with which to assimilate information, evaluate its relative importance and put it to use.
This has been the vital missing ingredient that has hampered all fields of study. It handicaps both children in school and adults in life.
Thus, many students find education a trying and difficult process. They never master the ability to rapidly learn something with certainty and ease. Others, even though they apparently have less difficulty studying, find they are unable to apply what they have read. Read the rest of this entry »
Indonesia Education Quality
Situation and condition in Indonesia are not good, there is poverty in anywhere. This is a caused why Indonesia can’t be better than other country. Poverty problems can’t be separated by the level of education in this country. Decreasing education quality in Indonesia is caused by low system education, the lacks of awareness, and the high level of poverty.
System education in Indonesia is disappointed. Curriculum that changes every four years cause most of students feel confused what the governments wish. Governments do not increase facilities in every school. Less of attention from the teachers to the students also influences students to study.
The lacks of awareness from civilization make education late to grown. Students have the less awareness. They feel lazy to study, because they don’t consider education is important. Role of teachers in school is very needed to support students. Some parents sometimes don’t be aware the meaning of education, they only let their children to go to school without think about it.
Poverty that is one of problems in Indonesia influence level of education. Many students don’t continue their study because to continue it need fee that is expensive. People prefer working to studying; they think working is better than studying. The costs of book aren’t cheap. So that many students don’t buy book, they only study from note which is given from their teachers.
Education in Indonesia must be improved to develop this country. So that Indonesia could become rich country. And level of poverty can be decrease.
