Profile: Varteni was born in Istanbul on june 24, 1953 to an
Armenian family. Her schoolings, first at the Armenian grade school then at
the Austrian Sankt Georg Gymnasium, significantly contributed to her early
development. She arrived in Boston, MA at age 16, attended Lynn Classical
High, enrolled at Cal Arts in Los Angeles and in 1979 received her BFA from
the University of Central Florida (UCF).
Her biography has been published in the Who is Who of American Women 1999. |

Profile: Alik received her BFA in Illustration from the Massachusetts College of Art and Design in Boston in 2004.Although her work is primarily focused on children's books, Alik has also created artwork for editorial and advertising purposes. Her work for the Fastachi catalogue won a 2004 NEDMA Silver Award. She is also an elementary school art teacher and a visiting lecturer at the Massachusetts College of Art and Design.
